Check the CSV and Outlook version before importing contacts.

Unreadable names, missing fields and duplicates need different checks. Use the version checklist, review a small CSV copy and inspect the destination yourself.

This guide does not connect to Microsoft, repair Outlook or import contacts. The existing tool finds review candidates within the selected CSV columns.

Separate file preparation from candidate review

Headings and readable text

Keep the header row. Microsoft’s template guidance says heading language should match Outlook’s default language. For new Outlook and web, use a readable UTF-8 copy; cancel if preview text is corrupted.

Fields and existing records

Classic Outlook has a field-mapping step and duplicate options. Check what each choice retains or replaces. Do not assume these controls are identical in new Outlook or web.

The trial and paid tool read CP949 as well as UTF-8, but they do not convert a file into an Outlook template. Their review CSVs are reports, not certified import files. Compare secondary email/phone fields separately; only one of each is mapped per run.

Open a CSV copy or paste a small table copied from Excel. Include the header and up to 20 contacts, select the pasted format explicitly, then map at least an email or phone column. Your source stays unchanged.

CSV contents are processed in this browser memory only and are not sent to servers or included in AI calls, analytics or persistent storage. Website visitor analytics is a separate optional choice. Clear results or close the page to end the trial. Do not attach contact files to enquiries.

Test a small copy before the full import

Back up existing contacts first. Map name, email and phone columns manually in this trial, then review shared mailbox or switchboard candidates. A clear result does not establish the same person, successful delivery or Outlook compatibility. In Outlook, verify the imported values, record count and duplicates yourself.
