Salesforce Contacts · review a CSV copy before an update

Same email, different Contact IDs. Review before choosing an update match.

Keep Contact IDs and source values together while reviewing repeated email or phone rows. A local candidate group does not tell you which Salesforce record an import will update.

Three decisions before importing Contacts

Choose the actual matching method

The Data Import Wizard offers Contact matching by Salesforce ID, name, email or an external ID. Choose the intended method in Salesforce; a shared email in a local file is not proof of the destination record.

Keep a backup and test a small import

Salesforce recommends keeping the exported data as a backup and using a separate working copy for updates. Check a small import before a larger one. A local report does not perform that import.

Review the source, then choose the destination behavior

  1. Keep the exported Contacts CSV unchanged and make a separate working copy. Retain Contact ID, Account ID and the fields you plan to update.

  2. Try up to 20 data rows below. Map the actual Email or Phone column (at least one is required). Map the Contact ID column to existing ID only if it is present; do not map Account ID as Contact ID.

  3. Open each candidate group and compare the original rows. Two records can share an email but have different Contact IDs. Keep that distinction and inspect the other source fields yourself.

  4. The tool compares selected IDs case-sensitively after trimming surrounding spaces. It does not convert 15/18-character IDs, validate Salesforce IDs or implement external-ID matching rules. Review raw IDs in the original file.

  5. In Salesforce, separately confirm the matching method, destination fields, account relationship, access and intended changes. Review the actual small-import result before proceeding.

One review question: same email, different IDs

Check whether both records are intentional before deciding how to handle their differing field values. The candidate report retains both source rows for that decision. It does not select a record, merge Contacts or resolve the correct Account relationship.

The local tool compares selected email/phone/ID values only. It does not inspect your Salesforce organization, duplicate rules, existing records, required destination fields or update permissions.

Try 20 rows free before buying

Find the rows to review in your own CSV.

Open a CSV copy or paste a small table copied from Excel. Include the header and up to 20 contacts, select the pasted format explicitly, then map at least an email or phone column. Your source stays unchanged.

CSV contents are processed in this browser memory only and are not sent to servers or included in AI calls, analytics or persistent storage. Website visitor analytics is a separate optional choice. Clear results or close the page to end the trial. Do not attach contact files to enquiries.

If text is unreadable, change the encoding and read again. XLSX and VCF are not supported. Over-limit files are rejected in full; partial checks are not presented as complete results.

Repeat the review and keep the reports

The existing Korean/English Contact CSV download retains every source row and column and exports reviewed, candidate and issue CSVs plus an unchanged original-byte copy. File limit: 2,000 rows, 80 columns and 2 MiB. Select one email and one phone column per run.

Check existing contents and purchase conditions

Buy the existing Korean/English tool

This is the existing local CSV review download. Salesforce integration, imports, ID conversion, account lookup and automated merging are outside its scope. Direct file opening, customer files, Excel/CRM importing and mobile use remain unverified. Try the free check before buying.

Check fit before choosing the download

Can I use only Contact IDs?

No. The current tool needs a mapped email or phone column. The existing ID field adds candidate comparisons; it is not a Salesforce ID validation tool.

Can I import the generated report directly?

Treat it as a review report, not a Salesforce import template. It adds review columns and protects formula-like text. Prepare the intended destination CSV separately and retain the unchanged original-byte copy.

Do no candidates or errors guarantee a safe update?

No. Only selected local fields are checked. Unselected fields, organization records, actual matching settings and the import result remain separate checks.
