Repeated email + Auto-Update
With Auto-Update, Mailchimp can add an email once and update its profile using later repeated rows. Inspect conflicting values before choosing the import order and settings.
Mailchimp CSV import · review before updating
Before updating an audience, inspect repeated email rows and their original names, IDs and notes. A duplicate count alone does not decide which information you meant to keep.
With Auto-Update, Mailchimp can add an email once and update its profile using later repeated rows. Inspect conflicting values before choosing the import order and settings.
Mailchimp checks duplicates inside one audience. An email present in two audiences is counted separately; one file’s candidate report does not inspect your whole account.
An export may contain a ZIP with separate subscribed, unsubscribed, non-subscribed and cleaned CSVs. Retain that context; a shared email is not a reason to change its contact type.
Official rules checked 11 October 2026. This independent guide and tool are not affiliated with Mailchimp.
Keep the original export and a separate working copy. Unzip the export yourself; the tool reads CSV, not ZIP.
Review one audience and contact type at a time. Include the header and up to 20 rows in the free check below. Map the actual Email Address column; select name or an existing ID only when present.
Open each email candidate group and compare the source rows. Review all conflicting fields in the original export, including fields not selected by the tool. Do not substitute Source Row for a permanent contact ID.
Decide which source values are intended before enabling any update. Keep the reason and source row references in your own review notes.
Confirm the destination field mapping, contact type and actual permission in Mailchimp. Inspect its import result yourself. Local candidate review does not certify a successful import.
If two rows share an email but one says the old company and the other the new company, review the intended value before importing. Keeping every source row in a report helps you see the disagreement; it does not choose the correct company for you. This is an illustrative situation, not a customer result.
Phone/ID candidate groups in the existing tool are review aids, not Mailchimp duplicate rules. The tool does not inspect subscription status, marketing permission, account records or field-update behavior. Review those separately.
Try 20 rows free before buying
Open a CSV copy or paste a small table copied from Excel. Include the header and up to 20 contacts, select the pasted format explicitly, then map at least an email or phone column. Your source stays unchanged.
CSV contents are processed in this browser memory only and are not sent to servers or included in AI calls, analytics or persistent storage. Website visitor analytics is a separate optional choice. Clear results or close the page to end the trial. Do not attach contact files to enquiries.
If text is unreadable, change the encoding and read again. XLSX and VCF are not supported. Over-limit files are rejected in full; partial checks are not presented as complete results.

Buy the existing Korean/English tool
This purchase adds the existing CSV review tool. It does not add a Mailchimp connector, audience merge, account lookup, subscription-status checker, import template or email campaign. Direct file opening, customer files, Excel/CRM importing and mobile use remain unverified. Use the free check before choosing.
No. Unzip it on your device and choose a CSV copy. The free check reads at most 20 rows and 32 KiB; use separate contact-type files and keep their filenames and audience context.
Do not treat a review report as an import template. It adds review columns and protects formula-like text. Prepare and inspect the intended destination columns yourself; the unchanged original-byte copy remains separate.
No. Only selected local fields are compared. Unselected values, account records, contact types and actual update results require separate review. No email delivery or campaign permission is confirmed.
